Rhino Grasshopper Animations

Animations in Rhino & Grasshopper

Animation & Visualisation Course

    What is the course about?

In this course we will explore how to create simple animations in both Rhino and Grasshopper. These animations will take the display of the Rhino viewport, and come in the form of flythroughs, sequencing and parametric animations.

In the first half of the tutorial we will examine the tools available natively in Rhino and Grasshopper that allow us to create animations.

In the second section of the tutorial we will introduce the Horster plugin for Grasshopper, which will enable us to control our camera and make more complex animations.

What will you learn in each video?

In this lesson we will examine how to create simple flythrough and turntable animations in Rhino, and combine them together in Photoshop as videos.

In this lesson we’re going to learn how to create parametric animations in Grasshopper. You will learn to create three different types of animations in this tutorial: one that moves geometries, one that grows geometries, and one combining these together to create a hybrid of the two.

In this lesson we’re going to learn how to create sequence animations in Grasshopper. This is a pretty simple process, essentially we are just going to be showing a growing sequence of parts using a Grasshopper slider. We will also explore controlled sequences using an attractor point.

In this lesson we’re going to learn how to use the Horster plugin to create a simple flythrough animation of our models in Grasshopper.

In this lesson we’re going to continue using the Horster plugin for Grasshopper to create a a parametric turntable animation in Grasshopper.

In this tutorial we’re going to continue using the Horster plugin for Grasshopper and look at how to combine some of our previous animations together into one continuous animation.
